We all want to be able to serve great food while spending less and less time slaving away in the kitchen and crockpot cooking is the answer. Most meals take long enough to prepare on there own so why not make dessert a whole lot easier and let your crock pot do all the work. 4-5 Large Apples
1 teasp Nutmeg
1 teasp Cinnamon
1 Tablsp Maple Syrup (can sub honey)
1 Tablsp Lemon Juice
1 Cup Oats
1/2 Cup Brown Sugar
1/2 Cup All Purpose Flour (can sub whole wheat)
4 Tablsp Room Temp Butter
1/4 teasp Salt
Take your apples and peel and slice them. Be sure not to slice your apples to thin keep them approx 1/2 inch thick or a little more for crockpot use. In a bowl add your apple slices along with 1/2 of cinnamon, 1/2 of nutmeg, maple syrup and lemon juice and mix well and then add to crockpot.
Now in a separate bowl add your oats, butter, sugar, flour, rest of cinnamon and nutmeg and combine well. Now spread this mixture evenly on top of the apples in your crock pot. Cook in crockpot on high for 2 hours and then on low for an additional 4 hours.
